Are you looking to upgrade your roller skates but not quite sure about where to start? Consider Riedell custom roller skates. Here is a simple break down on the 5 Riedell models that we carry:
Riedell 172:
Introduced in 1964, the Riedell 172 is also known as the OG. It is easily recognizable for its tall boot height. The boot features hand sorted leather uppers, split leather lining, light ankle padding and reinforced quarters for support. The soft shearling tongue folds over and is a big character trait of this boot. The 172 stock boot is a D width, so it has a wider toe box than some of the other boots. This is the perfect boot for cruising and for the skater that wants a classic look. This is one of the best boots to use ColorLab due to the unique cap toe, which gives another area to add color and design. Due to the soft leather and relaxed support, there is little to no break in time for this boot.
Riedell 220:
The Riedell 220 was introduced in the late 60’s and was a popular model in their freestyle line and was known as the entry level option for that category. This full leather boot offers great support for any skating discipline. This is a comfortable boot that seems to work best for a more narrow foot. The tongue has a foam padding for comfort rather than shearling and the boot has a very sleek overall look.

Riedell 297:
The Riedell 297 has also been in the line up for quite some time. It was often referred to as the “instructor boot” due to it’s comfort for all day wear. This boot hits higher on the ankle than the 220 but also gives additional support. It features full-grain leather uppers and soft moisture-resistant top-grain leather lining. Reinforced quarters and ankle padding offer great support while the soft genuine Shearling lining on the tongue offers the ultimate comfort. The 297 Professional is a great leather boot that offers excellent flexibility for performing complicated dance steps. When clients come in for a boot fit appointment and try on all of the models, the 297 is always a crowd pleaser! Extremely comfortable and supportive. This boot does have a break in time but only gets better with time.
Riedell 336:
The Riedell 336 artistic boot is made from high-quality materials and offers a comfortable, secure fit. The boot features full-grain leather uppers and soft, moisture-resistant top-grain leather lining. The dual-density ankle padding and the reinforced quarters offer great support while the cork/leather soling system helps to absorb shock for a smooth skate. The tongue features a soft genuine Shearling lining and a lace stabilizer bar to prevent slippage. Due to the support of this boot and the rolled collar for ankle mobility, it is a great choice for artistic skating, jam or rhythm. The 336 can take a few months to break in depending on the amount of time spent in the boots. Once broken in, they will fit like a glove.

Riedell 3200:
The 3200 offers maximum support and firmness. The boot, like the 172 is built on a wider last, so it is a great option for a skater with wider feet looking for maximum support. The low cut collar provides great ankle mobility and the antimicrobial lining wicks away sweat and moisture. This boot is meant to be worked in! Cushy premium foam lines the tongue and the contoured collar, making for an ultra-comfortable fit. Unique to the 3200 is the ForeFlex design that enhances the fit and flex for the small toe and ball area of the boot. Finally, lightweight cork heels provide incredible shock absorption, and extra firm quarter panels offer support for advanced dance skate moves. This boot is STIFF and takes a good amount of time to break in.
